Retail Chaplains
When you go to your local supermarket you are more likely to be looking for a can of beans than a chaplain. But recently more stores have been asking for them (chaplains that is! Beans have always been in demand).
Store chaplaincy is focussed mainly on the staff, but of course if a member of the public is in need, the chaplain is pleased to attend. Working in a supermarket has its own characteristics and it is not for everybody, but staff can find it sociable and satisfying, having direct contact with customers.
