London Luton Airport Chaplaincy Team
Who
The Chaplaincy Team visits some 130 companies on the Airport site. Workplace Visiting is shared between all Team members.
For example, Michael Banfield visits the Airport Company, plus easyJet and National Air Traffic Services (NATS), whilst Barbara McIntosh visits TUI / Thomsonfly at Wigmore Place and also Monarch Airlines, Malcolm Roberts covers GKN plus many smaller companies, Gerald Hale goes to the Airport Fire Station and Monarch Engineering, and Linda Banfield visits Car Parks and Cargo.
When
Usually one visit per month, but always on call - and appointments can be made on request.
Why & How
- Pastoral – An independent, confidential listening ear. An opportunity to share problems and frustrations on any topic i.e. family, relationships, financial, work related issues.
- Spiritual – We are not here to preach religion, though we’re always happy to discuss spiritual matters if you would like to.
- Care of The Chapel / Prayer Room – Situated opposite the main Terminal Building. Open 0400 – 2300 hours daily. Services; every Wednesday at 1305 hours for 20 minutes.
- Emergency Response – We provide special support to the Airport and based airlines in the event of a major incident or aircraft accident, through our Chaplaincy Emergency Response Team (CERT).
- Assistance to passengers- in distress, frightened of flying, or travelling when injured or incapacitated in some way.
